Playing "H.A.P.P.Y Radio"Return to CD listingEdwin:"Happy Radio"...what happened is that...in the United States, when I wrote "Happy Radio", the nightclubs and the radio stations were at odds with each other, Ok, they were really, really at odds with each other because people were making hit records in their basements, Ok, and they didn't need the big 24-track studios and didn't need the big, you know, the big sound systems and the whole bit. So what was happenin', the radio was rebelling against playing certain records unless they knew what the origin of the original records were. If they thought it was a record that was done in one of the "name" studios, yeah then they would give it a shot and play it, so understanding that I came up with the idea of "Happy Radio", which was a club record, but it's promoted by radio. |
